Lastly, Bet365 make Asian Handicap lines available on NHL games, meaning that you’re able to get even more value from your NHL handicap bets.

The only area Bet365 could improve is with their lacking period bets. Bet365 only offer up first period bets well in advance, so if you enjoy a bet on the second or third period, you’ll need to wait for those lines to be available. Bet99 offers up an NHL bet builder with decent customization options. This bet builder isn’t on the same level as their NBA or soccer bet builder, but it is still decent.

Another thing we liked about Bet99’s platform from a hockey perspective was the preset NHL combos. These aren’t too rare in Canada, but what we liked was that you could customize these preset bets, which you can’t really do elsewhere. You can bet on Andre Kuzmenko from the Canucks to score over or under 1.5 goals, against the Ducks, and you can do so for a handful of other players involved in the game.

More pros with Bet99 include the valuable odds that are provided for the NHL, along with the markets they provide for betting on the highest scoring period. For example, when the Ducks face the Canucks, and you feel like the 3rd period is when the most action will happen, you can bet on that to be the highest scoring period.

As mentioned earlier, the lack of the build mode feature on Bet99 was the one thing that we felt could be improved, especially seeing as how popular hockey is in Canada. BetVictor offers a better, more customizable bet builder.

With Sports Interaction, you can bet on a range of unique futures bets under Dangle’s Doozies (which can be found under the NHL tab). With Dangle’s Doozies, for example, you can bet on “Ontario born”, where you can select odds on whether one of the NJ Devils Ontario born players (Michael Mcleod, Nathan Bastian, Brendan Smith, or Dougie Hamilton) to score against the Maple Leafs. The one thing we felt could be improved about Sports Interaction’s platform was the lack of a betting app. If a betting app is what you’re looking for, we recommend the likes of Bet365.

While largely known as a casino brand, LeoVegas’ sportsbook is in fact one of the better ones in Canada. When it comes to hockey, the platform doesn’t fail to provide an extensive offering. First up, you make use of pre-made NHL same game parlays. If you see a Maple Leafs game coming up, you can bet on them to win, for the game to include over/under 3.5 goals, and for them to score first for example. What makes these special is that they’re completely customizable.

We also really liked the pre pack combos, which were in some ways similar to the same game parlays, but covered fewer markets, and were not customizable - a bit better for s in more of a hurry. With LeoVegas, you’re also able to bet on all three periods well in advance. If you know that the Canadiens, for example, come alive in the third period, having these markets available can be very handy. Lastly, LeoVegas’ app is our overall pick for a seamless betting experience on the NHL.

The only thing we weren’t too happy about was the lacking game props. We felt that the game props offered by Sports Interaction were a bit better, and largely more interesting.

888Sport is another heavyweight international betting brand that offers some decent hockey betting options in Canada. We really enjoyed their top 5 hockey bets feature, which forms part of their bet feed feature that they offer across all the major sports on their site. You can see whether the majority of people have bet on the Oilers in their game, and whether people have placed parlays, and more.

We also enjoyed 888sport’s puck line toggle feature that you can use when deciding on how many goals you want to set for a team to cover the spread. The toggle is responsive, so as you change the puck line from say 1.5 to 2.5, the odds will automatically change accordingly.

We also enjoyed the preset NHL same game parlays that were available, that s could also customize. It reminded us a lot of what Bet99 has to offer.

The only area we felt 888sport’s NHL betting offer could be improved was with how the odds were laid out. They’re laid out in a bit of a strange, vertical way, making it easy to make the wrong picks. Aside from that, we were disappointed to see a lack of overtime bets on the site.

BetVictor’s platform offers NHL fairly well, but their offering of hockey doesn’t quite match up with what they offer for basketball, especially for the NBA. Where BetVictor does do well is with the range of options you get to include on their NHL bet builder. For one, you’re able to bet on the number of blocked shots in a given game. Bwin is the last entry on our list of NHL betting sites in Canada. While the site offers up a decent bet builder with good customization, and a really solid range of NHL scoring props, it’s busy interface, along with its lack of an app and below par betting odds are what make Bwin a bit forgettable for the NHL.

Bwin does do some other things right, such as NBA and soccer, but for NHL, we’d recommend going with 888sport instead.
